Harbin Engineering University is located in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province. The school was identified as a national key university by the State Council in 1978; it was the first batch of doctors and masters degree-granting units, and the first batch of “211 Projects” key construction universities; in 2002, it was approved to establish graduate-schools; in 2011, it became the national “985 Project” advanced discipline innovation platform ; in 2017, selected "double first-class" under-building universities. The school is guided by four disciplines: ship and marine equipment, marine information, ship power, advanced nuclear energy and nuclear safety. It has built up the main subject advantages, universal and basic discipline support, unique cultural disciplines and reasonable professional structure. The school insists on internationalization and open education that leading the establishment of the International Alliance for Ship and Ocean Engineering Innovation and Cooperation (ICNAME).
